Booking terms and conditions

What you can expect from us, and what we ask of you, when you book a trip.

Your contract

When you book a trip, your contract is with Honesha Tanzania Tours of Arusha, Tanzania. These terms, together with your written confirmation and itinerary, form the agreement between us. Please read them before you confirm your booking.

How a booking is confirmed

A request through our website, by email or on WhatsApp is not a booking. Once you accept our proposal, we send a written confirmation that sets out your itinerary, the price and the payment details. Your booking is confirmed when we receive the deposit stated in that confirmation.

Deposit and payment

The deposit amount, the date the balance is due and the accepted payment methods are set out in your written confirmation. No payments are taken on our website.

Any bank or card charges that apply to your payment will be explained before you pay.

Prices

Your price is the one in your written confirmation. Park, conservation and other fees are set by the Tanzanian authorities and can change. How any change after booking is handled is explained in your confirmation.

Information we need from you

To book permits, accommodation and flights, we need accurate details for every traveller. Please tell us about any changes as soon as possible.

  • Full name exactly as in your passport
  • Nationality, date of birth and passport details
  • Dietary requirements
  • Any health conditions relevant to your trip, especially for mountain climbs

Changes and cancellation by you

If you need to change or cancel your trip, please tell us in writing as soon as possible. Many lodges, airlines and parks charge us for late changes or cancellations, so charges may apply. The cancellation and change charges for your trip are set out in your written confirmation.

Changes and cancellation by us

Sometimes weather, road conditions, park rules or events outside our control mean we need to change part of your itinerary. When this happens we will offer a comparable alternative and keep you informed.

If we have to cancel your trip before it starts, we will offer you new dates or a refund of the money you have paid us, as set out in your confirmation.

Travel insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance from the moment you book. It should cover medical treatment, emergency evacuation, repatriation, cancellation and loss of belongings. For Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru or Ol Doinyo Lengai, make sure it covers trekking at the altitude you will reach.

Health, fitness and safety

You are responsible for making sure you are fit and healthy enough for your trip. If you are unsure, please ask your doctor before booking, and tell us about any medical conditions.

On safari and on the mountains, please follow your guide's safety instructions. On a climb, your guide may decide that a traveller must descend if continuing would put their health or the group at risk.

Passports, visas and vaccinations

You are responsible for having a valid passport, the right visa and any required health certificates. We are happy to give general advice, but please check the latest requirements with official sources.

Accommodation and other providers

Some services on your trip, such as lodges, hotels and domestic flights, are provided by other companies. We choose them with care, and their own terms and conditions also apply while you use their services.

Questions and complaints

If something is not right during your trip, please tell your guide or call us straight away so we can try to fix it on the spot. After your trip, you can write to us at info@honeshatanzaniatour.com.
