where you stay
Tarangire Public Campsite is the TANAPA campsite inside Tarangire National Park, about 5 km south of the main gate and roughly 1 km north of the Tarangire River. It is basic bush camping on sandy ground: tours bring their own tents and supplies, and the site has toilets, showers, washbasins and a cooking and dining area. Water is trucked in and is not drinkable. Sleeping inside the park means you can be out on the river circuits at first light.
