Every trip we plan is priced for you, because the cost depends on your dates, group size, route and where you want to sleep. To make planning easier, our safaris come in three travel styles. The parks, the wildlife and the care from your driver-guide stay the same. What changes is where you sleep and how you eat.
Budget camping
A practical way to see Tanzania’s parks. You travel in a 4×4 safari vehicle with an experienced driver-guide, sleep at campsites in and near the parks, and your cook prepares meals at camp.
Where you stay: Campsites, with dome tents and camping equipment provided.
Suits: Adventurous travellers, groups of friends and anyone happy to sleep close to nature.

Tented camping
Stay in tented camps near the parks and hear the bush at night, with guided game drives by day. Many guests combine lodges with permanent tented camps on a private safari.

Suits: Travellers who want an authentic safari feel with more comfort than camping.

Lodge and luxury
Carefully selected lodges and premium tented camps near the major wildlife areas, often with a private vehicle and a dedicated guide. Luxury mobile camping is also possible for small groups.

Suits: Honeymoons, families and travellers who want extra comfort and service.

what shapes the price
Lodges and camps charge more in the busy dry season and over Christmas and New Year. We often have discounted safari programmes in the April to June low season.
On a private safari, the cost of the vehicle and driver-guide is divided among the people sharing it, so the price per person drops as your group grows. Joining a group can lower the cost further.
National park, conservation and crater fees are set by the Tanzanian authorities and charged per person and per day. They are a large part of any safari or climb, and they can change.
Accommodation is usually the biggest variable. The same route can cost very different amounts depending on the camps and lodges you choose.
More days mean more park fees and nights. Flying between parks saves time but adds cost, while driving is cheaper but takes longer.
