Ngorongoro Crater rim

Simba A is the public campsite on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, an open grassy clearing at about 2,300 to 2,400 metres with a great spreading tree at its centre. Camping safaris stay here for an early start down to the crater floor. Facilities are basic: toilets, cold showers, washbasins and cooking shelters, and the water is not drinkable. Nights at this altitude are cold, and zebras and buffalo often graze between the tents.
