Kikelewa Camp

A sheltered campsite at about 3,630 metres among giant groundsels on the Rongai route, below the cliffs of Mawenzi. On the seven-day Rongai climb you arrive here early, which leaves time to rest and let your body adjust. Your mountain crew carries everything up and pitches your sleeping tents and a dining tent with table and chairs, and the cook serves hot meals here morning and evening. Toilets at the campsite are basic long-drop facilities.
