where you stay
A campsite at about 3,870 metres where the Northern Circuit meets the upper Rongai trail. It sits in rocky alpine moorland with Kibo rising to the south-west and Mawenzi to the south-east, and it is the last camp before the high School Hut. Your mountain crew carries everything up and pitches your sleeping tents and a dining tent with table and chairs, and the cook serves hot meals here morning and evening. Toilets at the campsite are basic long-drop facilities.
