Octagon Lodge

A small, family-run lodge in Karatu, about twenty minutes from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate. Timber chalets and stone cottages are spread through six acres of gardens alive with birds, and the kitchen cooks with vegetables grown on the property. After a day on safari you can swim in the pool or sit by the fire in the Irish Bar, one of very few in Africa. It makes a quiet base for the crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire.
